Is Jussie Smollet a ‘Colorist?’ He Referred to Nigerian Brothers As ‘Black As Sin’ and Bought Drugs from Them

Jussie Smollett - Abel & Ola Osundairo

*Jussie Smollet, it seems, is the recipient of some Chicago Police Department “get back.” It’s no secret the organization has no love at all for the troubled actor and on Thursday released the full case file into his investigation.

One of the nuggets from the investigation is an interview with the “Empire” actor that got a lot (black) folks wincing is the fact that he did not believe  Abel and Ola Osundairo could have been his assailants because “they are black as sin.”

The documents include hundreds of pages of interviews, records and logs, including one interview done with Smollett on February 14, after the Osundairo brothers were taken into custody.

Here’s more from The Blast:

According to the report, Smollett was shown two photos, one of which he identified “as his trainer, his friend, and an extra on ‘Empire.’” He was able to identify the other photo but said he did not know the person by name.

*Note: all names in the document are redacted but it’s clear Smollett and the Osundairo brothers are the people being spoken about.

Smollett said that he knew the man in the photo for about a year and that he had been his trainer for about a month.

The document then states, “Victim [name redacted] realized that the photos he viewed were of the persons that were in custody at this time. Victim [name redacted] said it can’t be them, ‘They are black as sin.’”

Jussie Smollett also told police that he did not have any issues with the men, saying, “They are straight so we don’t have any problems with women or men. They did not owe me any money, I don’t owe them any money. We have a good relationship.”

Police say they then asked Smollett is he would sign complaints and prosecute he said yes. But then, according to the report, an attorney for Smollet intervened “and stated they will discuss it.”

The report adds that Smollett’s attorney “attempted to end the interview” many times because Smollett had to be on the set of “Empire.”

Wait! It gets even more interesting. the released documents show that Smollett initially communicated via text messages with the Osundairo brothers with the intent of purchasing some street drugs. We’re talking marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy … before getting them to help stage his alleged attack on Jan. 29.

“It was found during the review of these text records that on various occasions Smollett would request that (redacted) procure items for Smollett which Smollett described as weed, molly, or Whitney, which the (case report) was familiar with being slang for cannabis and controlled substances,” the documents read. “In particular, weed is slang for cannabis, molly is slang for ecstasy and whitney is slang for cocaine.”

It’s even morte interesting to learn from the report that Smollett used PayPal and Venmo to electronically pay for the transactions. Smollett appeared to describe his payment to the brothers for the drugs as payment for “legitimate expenses” like personal training.

As they say, the plot thickens.
