Jasmin-Brown

*Comedian Jasmin Brown – known on Instagram as @WatchJazzy has taken Instagram stardom off of social media and on to TV screens. As the host of the new Kevin Hart show on Bounce TVLaugh Out Loud” she brings her hilarious and relatable perspective each episode.

The show highlights a curated collection of award-winning content from Hart’s Laugh Out Loud digital service, with Brown introducing each segment.

With 1 million followers on Instagram, she got her start in Miami as a bottle service girl who hopped on the gram to talk life. Initially she was focused on acting, not being a comedian. But when the headline of the show she was hosting at Funny Bone comedy club in Virginia Beach was late, Jasmin entertained the audience and birthed her start as a comedian.

From there, other opportunities developed including being cast in 50 Cents’ BET comedy sketch show in 2017, “50 Central” and touring with of Marlon Wayans.

EURweb’s Jill Munroe talked with Jasmin about finding out she officially got the job after pushing through a few career setbacks.

“the way they presented it to me and was like, they might not keep you, just so you know, once it gets picked up, if and when it gets picked up they might go another way. So they were just trying to prepare me for that.

So I’m like, OK, cool. So I went in there, I shot the pilot, everything was great. Everybody was so great. The experience was great. I didn’t hear anything back for a while.

But then they said, hey, there’s a couple of different networks looking to pick it up, and they might give it to someone with a bigger name.

Now of course, that can be a little discouraging. Because here you are, you’re out here grinding, you know everything you’ve been through, and you just want… You just want whatever the next thing is, to be it. So I was like, alright, cool, great. I didn’t really hear anything bad.

And then I get a phone call. That they sold the show, and they want to pick you, they want to keep you. And I’m like — oh. What? What are you talking about? It got picked up? I forgot all about it. It really got picked up.

Man, I’m telling you, the day I went back to set. It was almost like a — I don’t want to say it was a reunion, because it wasn’t the same people, but it was the same people who watched me grind the first time in the pilot, and whatever it was, whatever I did in the room, you know, it was a hectic day, however I can direct it myself. However it happened that day stood out enough for people to want to work with me and bring me back, for whatever reason.”

The series airs on Monday nights on Bounce TV at 9:00 PM
