*Halle Berry and Keanu Reeves have teamed for the first time for the third installment of the “John Wick” franchise. But the actress says they came close to co-starring in another feature years ago.

When the dynamic duo chopped it up recently with Entertainment Tonight, Berry dropped a bombshell when she revealed she almost co-starred with Reeves in the 1994 film “Speed.”

“I don’t know if you know this, but I was offered Speed before Sandra Bullock,” Berry said. “I stupidly said no. But in my defense, when I read the script the bus didn’t leave the parking lot.”

“I was like no, no, no, no. Then I see the movie and I’m like, arrrrghh,” she said, before adding that she has no didn’t regrets about passing on the project. “I was in it well before these fine people,” she said pointing to Reeves. “They were offering me the parking lot version.”

25 years later…both Bullock and Berry are Oscar-winning actresses.

“Speed” stars Reeves as an LAPD cop who tries to rescue civilians on a city bus rigged with a bomb programmed to explode if the bus slows down below 50 mph. It became a sleeper hit, grossing $350.4 million on a $30 million budget and winning two Academy Awards in 1995, for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.

But audiences were less than thrilled about the critically panned sequel, “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” which was released in the summer of 1997.

As for “John Wick 3,” Berry plays a hired assassin named Sofia. To prepare for the role, she had to learn martial arts. “I worked six months, probably almost five days a week training,” she said. The Emmy-winning star also had to train with her canine co-stars, the report states.

“I worked with these dogs a lot so they could get to know me and I could get to know them,” she explained. “And I could command them on the day and wrangle them a little bit if things went crazy.”

Reeves joked that when he arrived on set, the dog trainer told him not to look the dogs in the eye.

“Halle’s like, ‘Come on,'” Reeves said. “They’re eating out of her hand. She was the boss!”

Berry, who is a fan of the John Wick franchise, gushed about finally getting to work with Reeves on the film.

“We had a scene where we were in Berrada’s (Jerome Flynn) office, when we’re on a rug and we had to take down like 12, 14, 15 some-odd guys together on a rug and I thought, ‘Hmm, how is this going to work? How are we not going to knock each other out and throw our guys? This isn’t going to happen,'” she recalled. “And then I remember when we did it I felt so much pride. I felt like, ‘Holy sh*t, I just did a movie with Keanu on a rug and we did this sh*t!’ I was so amped. That was the moment that it hit me that I was working with Keanu and I was a part of this franchise that I had loved so long.”

“John Wick 3” arrives in theaters May 17.
