*Recently (04-26-19) on The Real, co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley got real and opened up about her parents divorcing several years ago and how she has become overly protective of her mother ever since.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: I’ve never really talked about this on television, but, my mom and dad are actually divorced. And, uh, so right now we’re living different phases of our lives. I love that she’s living her life like it’s golden.
Jeannie Mai: I love it.
Tamera: But I feel like, if we live together, our roles will be reversed. I’d be like, “What you doing tonight? Who? Oh, you didn’t come home until what? Who are you dating?”
Jeannie: No way!
Tamera: Oh yes!
Jeannie: Wait. Your mom has…
Tamera: I’m so…
Adrienne Houghton: Protective.
Tamera: I am so over-protective over my mom. And this is new. I mean, they’ve been divorced for four years, but it took me a while to accept that.
Jeannie: Of course. Yeah.
Tamera: And now my mom is out there… I guess she’s dating. But she just, she’s very private.
Jeannie: I love that!
Tamera: Where as my dad, I’ve met his girlfriend. She’s, she’s Asian.

Jeannie: Asian.
Tamera: Nahna, hi, Nahna! I love you so much!
Jeannie: (Laughs) I love that!
Tamera: She’s awesome. But my mom, I’m like…
Jeannie: She’s private.
Tamera: Yeah, she’s…
Jeannie: Why do you think, by the way?
Adrienne: That she’s a Scorpio.
Tamera: Because I think… She’s a Scorpio… and she knows that I’m going to be very, very opinionated.
Jeannie: Inquisitive. Oh! Interesting.
Tamera: Yes. And I will be hard on her like she was hard on me. So, she can’t just date just anybody.
Adrienne: She’s like, “That’s my mama!”
Jeannie: Dang!
Tamera: I know! Is that wrong?
Loni Love: Yeah.
Adrienne: No.. I.. It is.. it is… But I get it.
Tamera: It is?
Loni: Yeah.
Jeannie: It is.
Loni: She deserves to live her life.
Jeannie: Yes.
Tamera: I know. I’m not saying that.
Loni: You’ve got to let her live her life.

Tamera: I’m just saying… just communicate about it.
Loni: She don’t have to tell you nothing. She’s grown.
Jeannie: She don’t have to. No.
Loni: She had you. You didn’t have her. Check yo’self. Okay?

Adrienne: Yeah. One hundred percent!
