Tessa Thompson Suits Up with Chris Hemsworth to Battle Shapeshifting Aliens in ‘Men in Black: International’ [TRAILER]

*The latest trailer for Sony’s “Men in Black: International” introduces fans to new aliens and highlights the shapeshifting villains that Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) and Agent M (Tessa Thompson) will have to battle in the spinoff to the highly popular sci-fi franchise.

“We are a rumor, recognizable only as déjà vu and dismissed just as quickly,” Emma Thompson says in trailer. “We are the best kept secret in the universe.”

“I know, I want in,” Thompson replies. “You erased my parents’ memories, but you didn’t get mine. Took me 20 years to find you. How many people can say that? I found you, which makes me perfect for this job.”

Billboard breaks down the plot as follows:

The new clip introduces Thompson’s character, Agent M, a new recruit who spent 20 years trying to track down and join MIB after watching agents erase the memories of her parents. After proving her alien wrangling bona fides, Agent M gets shipped to the MIB London bureau where she’s partnered with Hemsworth’s, Agent H, and they’re tasked with fighting a new enemy, the Hive, aliens that can take the form of anyone, including MIB agents.

“We’ve never faced a threat like the Hive,” new boss High T (Liam Neeson) says of the aliens in the clip, also warning them to “trust no one.”

Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film stars Emma Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Rafe Spall, Laurent Bourgeois and Larry Bourgeois. The agents also team with a pint-sized alien named Pawny, voiced by Kumail Nanjiani.

“While Tessa plays the rookie agent, in some ways she is more like Tommy [Lee Jones] and you might say Chris is more like Will, only in that Tessa’s someone who comes to this through a 20-year study of everything from astrophysics to The National Inquirer,” producer Walter Parkes says. “She’s a very very smart and, not by-the-book, but let’s just say she’s a character who when we meet her tends to not let passion get in the way of her conscious approach to problem solving.”

“We protect the earth, and that means everyone and everything on it,” Hemsworth says at the end of the trailer. “We are the men in black. The men and women in black.”

“Men in Black: International” hits theaters on June 14.
