*Paramount Pictures has released the trailer for director Ang Lee‘s sci-fi thriller “Gemini Man,” starring Will Smith as an assassin tasked with hunting down his own clone.
“He knew every move of mine before I made it,” Smith says in the clip above about his elusive, shadowy enemy. “I’d have him right there, I’d take the shot, and he would be gone — like a ghost. Who is he?”
Lee reportedly used digital effects to portray the 50-year-old actor as his 23-year-old self, Entertainment Weekly reports.
“Twenty-five years ago, they made you from me!” Smith says to his young clone in the trailer. “They chose me because there’s never been anybody like me. We have to end this right now!”

The “emotional and physical challenges of making this film have been the most demanding of my career,” Smith said in a statement, according to The Wrap. “Ang is pushing the limits to give people an experience in the movie theater that you can’t get anywhere else. This is not only an action film, but an exploration of what one’s younger self can ultimately teach one’s older self.”

Smith shared the first set photo and video from the film in Feb. 2018, showing himself in a “buggy” dilemma on location in Georgia.

“Gemini Man” — which also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen, and Benedict Wong — hits theaters Oct. 11, 2019.
