Beyoncé Drops Surprise Coachella Live Album + Netflix ‘Homecoming’ Documentary

Beyoncé

*To accompany the release of her highly anticipated Netflix documentary “Homecoming,” Beyonce dropped a surprise LIVE album of the same name early Wednesday morning.

The project was recorded when she headlined the 2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California.

The Homecoming tracks are not new but rather some of your favorite Queen Bey songs accompanied by a drumline + a bonus track = Bey’s studio cover of Frankie Beverly and Maze’s 1981 song, “Before I Let Go,” which she recorded during her Destiny’s Child days. The rendition is also heard in the closing credits of her Netflix doc (listen to it via the player below).

The documentary includes home movies and never-before-seen photos of Bey and husband JAY-Z meeting their newborn twins for the first time, Entertainment Tonight reports.

There’s also a version of their daughter Blue Ivy covering “Lift Every Voice and Sing” in rehearsals (which Beyonce also sang in the Coachella show) — listen via the player below.

“I was supposed to do Coachella the year prior but I got pregnant unexpectedly,” Beyonce says over video footage of her showing off her baby bump in the film. “And it ended up being twins which was even more of a surprise.”

She goes on to reveal details of her “extremely difficult pregnancy.”

“My body went through more than I knew it could. I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth,” she says. “I had an extremely difficult pregnancy. I had high blood pressure. I developed toxemia, preeclampsia.”

Adding, “And in the womb, one of my babies’ hearts paused a few times so I had to get an emergency C-section,” she reveals.

The live album spans Bey’s 37-song Coachella set, including her performances with Destiny’s Child, Jay-Z, and J Balvin. You can cop the album via Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and Tidal. Peep the full track list via the player below.
