What Jussie Smollett Said When He Reached Out To Loni

Adrienne Houghton: Over the weekend, actually you tweeted, “So, Jussie called me. We had a long talk and he wanted to thank those that have supported him. He is with his family and wanted me to let the public know that he will answer all questions soon. Hashtag Vessel.”  So, that meaning that you were the vessel to pass that message along, right?

Loni Love: Yeah.

Adrienne: Loni, would you care to elaborate any further about what your conversation was about.

Loni: First of all, I was surprised that he had called me.  But, when we were on the NAACP red carpet, we kept being asked about it.  So, I think that that’s what led him to uh…

Adrienne: Reach out.

Loni: Reach out.  And he said that he was reaching out people that showed love and support.  He said that I can ask any question I wanted.  I was there not to judge him. I just wanted to listen to what he had to say.  We talked for over an hour and a half.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Wow

Loni: He is going through it, y’all.  He has a lot of details, there’s a lot of things that’s happening. Um, he was candid, he was raw, and he has a lot to say.  But he’s not publicly ready to speak.  But, when he is publicly ready to speak, he will.  Um, I’m encouraging him to speak because of what the things he was saying…

Adrienne: Yeah, so many questions.

Loni: So many questions that he was answering, you know, just in my mind.  And I just want to keep everybody encouraged.  So, he said that he wanted to find out how the public felt. So, that’s why I put out the tweet.  Not putting out the tweet as a scoop and all this…

Tamera: Yeah, yeah.

Adrienne: He asked you to.

Loni:  This is something he asked me to do.
