*Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx is reportedly feeling the pressure following the decision by her office to drop the charges against Jussie Smollett.

As her office prepares for trail against R. Kelly, a source close to the situation tells The Blast that they have faith Foxx will handle the case effectively.

Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of sexual misconduct after Foxx aggressively pursued criminal charges against the singer.

As we previously reported, the FBI have launched a probe into the alleged secret deal Chicago prosecutors made with Smollett that resulted in all charges against him being dropped.

Even though the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office insisted they had the evidence for a conviction, the 16-count felony indictment against the “Empire” star was dismissed with little explanation.

As we previously reported, after Foxx recused herself from the case, it was passed over to First Assistant State’s Attorney Joe Magats, who announced the dismissal of charges but made clear that “We didn’t exonerate him.”

“We didn’t exonerate him,” Magats said. “We stand behind the investigation, we stand behind the decision to charge him and we stand behind the charges in the case. The mere fact that it was disposed of in an alternative manner does not mean that there were any problems or infirmities in the case or the evidence.”

Meanwhile, attorney Gerald Griggs, who represents the family of Kelly’s alleged girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage, tells The Blast he believes Foxx “did a good job on the Jussie Smollett case.”

According to the report, those involved with the Kelly case have “faith that Foxx and her staff will handle the case effectively and properly.”

In related news, the arrest of Michael Avenatti, who played a key role in delivering to Foxx alleged evidence against R. Kelly, will reportedly not have an impact in his criminal case.
