*You have to work pretty damn hard to be an asshole on Donald Trump’s level, but rapper Kodak Black had no problem sliding into in Trump territory when he disrespected actress Lauren London.
London of course is the girlfriend and mother of a child with late rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed a week ago today (03-31-19). Via a video on Saturday, Kodak called London “that baby” and “whole widow out here.” But where he really crossed the line was when he said he was willing to give her a year of “crying and s*it” before making a move on her. Watch the despicableness below.
After catching serious heat for his stupidity and insensitivity, the rapper issued a really half-hearted apology. He did it via Instagram, saying he was sorry for disrespecting her, “even though I didn’t.”
Apparently his mush-mouthed mea culpa wasn’t good enough to stop action by some DJs and radio stations from dropping his music. One of them, Justin Credible f of LA’s Power 106 in tweeted the station was “appalled by the disrespectful and poor comments” and they would no longer play his music.
Then there is Big Boy the nationally syndicated hip host who’s based at 92.3 the REAL in LA. He wants Kodak Black to know that he won’t tolerate disrespect like this toward Nipsey Hussle and Lauren London. Big Boy says hip-hop culture has a tendency to look the other way on moments like this, but he argues that has to change … and that people from the community have to hold one another accountable, including Kodak.
DON LEMON SAID BOYFRIEND TIM MALONE POPPED QUESTION; HE SAID YES – NOW ENGAGED
It doesn’t sound like Big Boy is saying he won’t play Kodak’s music like Justin Credible did, but he does say he hopes this helps change minds going forward about the things that come out of people’s mouths.
Meanwhile, former welterweight championship boxer Andre Berto spoke with TMZ and also said what Kodak did was incredibly disrespectful, because Nipsey Hussle’s murder was so fresh, and Kodak should think about staying well away from LAS for the immediate future.
