*Spice Girl Geri Halliwell says her family was left devastated and embarrassed after Mel B. recently revealed that she once slept with Geri during their height of the careers as pop stars.

Halliwell has denied Mel’s account in a statement in which she also expresses her disappointment — all before the girls are slated to go on a reunion tour. There are even whispers that Geri may sue Mel over the allegations.

Mel revealed she and her bandmate had a sexual encounter after Piers Morgan pressed her about such rumors on “Life Stories” in a clip that aired recently on “Good Morning Britain.”

“She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in a country house with her husband,” Brown told Morgan. “But it was all in the past. It just happened, we just giggled at it and that was it. We were best friends. It just happened.”

Halliwell previously told Howard Stern about a tryst with a famous woman ― but didn’t divulge her name. She said she was drunk and “realized pretty quickly that I was not a lesbian.”

“‘I don’t mind boobs but the other bit is not my cup of tea,” she said. “I didn’t like the lesbian thing. It is part of experimenting. I was drunk at the time.” Geri added: “I could never ever say who it was. I don’t think she was a lesbian either. I’m going to leave the rest to your imagination.”

Following Mel B’s tea spilling session with Piers, Geri released the following statement to USA Today (via Complex) with the help of spokesman Alan Edwards.

“[Halliwell] would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family,” Edwards explained to USA Today. “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumors again.”

Meanwhile, Spice Girls begin their reunion tour (without Victoria Beckham) in May.
