EURweb on the Red Carpet for Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ NYC Premiere – Exclusive/Watch

*Earlier this week EURweb was at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for the red carpet and screening of the new Jordan Peele horror film “Us” starring Lupita Nyong’o, Wilson Duke, Shahidi Wright Joseph and Evan Alex.

The event was packed to the seams with photographers and journalists jostling to get a good angle for a photo or quote as those in attendance proceeded down the carpet.

We were able to speak with writer/director Jordan Peele, as well as stars Duke, Alex and Wright Joseph, about their time on set shooting the film that has been getting exponentially higher ratings and reviews prior to its nationwide premiere (today, Friday, March 22).

The entire group was discernibly gracious and excited, which is notable considering the whirlwind manner of international press tours. The thriller is set around a family led by mother Adelaide Wilson, her husband Gabe Wilson, and their two children, Zora and Jason.

The “typical” upper middle-class family is in the Santa Cruz, California area on vacation, but Adelaide is on edge the entire time unbeknownst to her jovial but somewhat goofy and clueless husband, played by Duke.

It’s her hometown yet she appears to have no interest in being there for long, especially not the beach which was the scene of a traumatic experience from her youth that she never discussed with her family.

The action begins to take off about a fifth of the way through the film and doesn’t let up until just before the credits begin to roll.

Check out EURweb’s conversations with the cast and director/writer, Jordan Peele, above.
