If you think Evangelical Christians couldn’t fall any further, then grab a beer. Fundamentalists have already debased themselves by allying with President Donald Trump.

Apparently, they have no problem with his debauched life, his porn star third wife or his abusive, corrupt behavior that runs contrary to everything Christianity is supposed to stand for.

Recently, Paula White, a heretical prosperity preacher, said her role counseling Trump was an “assignment from God.” White, like Trump, is considered a shyster by Christian scholars. Apparently, conmen and conwomen like each others company.

But Christians have also thrown their support behind Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has been called the “Trump of the Tropics.”

Bolsonaro recently won the Brazilian presidency by appealing to family values, (persecuting gays,) national security and white nationalism, the three pillars of modern-day fascists.

Neo-fascist Steve Bannon was also on hand to offer his advice. Like Trump, Bolsonaro has insulted his opponents. He once claimed a female politician was “too ugly to rape” and said he’d rather have his son die in a car accident than be gay.

And, just like Trump, he’s made offensive statements about people of color. According to Vox, Bolsonaro implied indigenous people and Quilombolas, the descendants of Afro-Brazilian enslaved people, were too lazy to procreate.

He also said that his sons would never marry black women, because they were “were very well-educated.”
