*If you were a teenager suddenly gifted with superhero abilities what would you do? Warner Bros. new film Shazam! reveals the answer to that question in the origin story of the DC superhero.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, we are introduced to 14-year-old orphan Billy Batson (Asher Angel Disney Channel’s Andi Mack) who is given the ability to transform into an adult superhero – played by Chuck star Zachary Levi – when he yells the magic word, “shazam.”
Billy begins to test out his new superpowers with the help of his foster brother Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer , “IT”) who just so happens to be an expert on all things superhero related.
Billy will need to master his new abilities quickly. He is soon put to the test as he must fight the seven deadly sins controlled by the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong, The Kingsman movies) to save his foster family and the world.
EURweb’s Jill Munroe talked to cast members Mark Strong, Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer about who they would like to see Shazam and Dr. Sivana pair up with in a Justice League movie, what their personal theme music is, and what the characteristics are that make but for a great supervillain.

Strong says the traits of a great supervillain are, that “they have to be determined, they have to be scary in their tenacity and drive for the thing they’re trying to do, which is generally to take over the world.”
The film also features Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond”) as the Wizard. Faithe Herman (TV’s “This is Us”), Grace Fulton (“Annabelle: Creation”), Ian Chen (TV’s “Fresh Off the Boat”), Jovan Armand (TV’s “Hawaii Five-0”), Marta Milans (TV’s “Killer Women”) and Cooper Andrews (TV’s “The Walking Dead”).
Shazam! hits theatres on April 5.
