*Ciara is back at dishing about the struggles of being holier than thou and how “it took a lot prayer” to abstain from sex with Russell Wilson before they wed.
As reported by Complex, during her cover interview for April’s issue of InStyle, the singer and part-time model explained how she and her Super Bowl-winning husband followed a “no sex” policy until their wedding day.
“That took a lot of prayer,” Ciara joked. “It was hard. I can’t lie.”
She previously opened up about the strong values which helped them build a solid friendship before becoming intimate.

“I really believe that when you focus on a friendship, you have the opportunity to build a strong foundation for a relationship,” the “Level Up” singer told Cosmo South Africa in Jan. 2017. “Once you know you’re really great friends and you’re what we call ‘equally yoked,’ where you share the same values or the same outlook on life, it kind of sets the tone… You shouldn’t feel like you have to give your body away to get someone to like you.”
She added “I have to give credit to my husband for sharing those views,” she continued. “It’s awesome how it all worked out.”
In addition to discussing her current relationship with InStyle, Ciara also touched on her split with her baby daddy, Future.
“If you want to get somewhere in life, you’ve got to have a compass. You’ve got to know where you really want to get to,” the singer said of her relationship with the rap star. “And my heart, soul, spirit, and mind just desired to be loved. To be truly loved the right way… I knew I didn’t want to cry tears of hurt anymore. I didn’t want to keep going around in circles.”
