Baltimore ‘ULMII’ Entertainment Conference Forms Community Partnership with Boy and Girl Scouts

“Uplifting Minds II” entertainment conference.

*The Baltimore “Uplifting Minds II” (ULMII) entertainment conference announces it has formed a community partnership with the Boy Scouts of America (Thurgood Marshall District) and the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland.

The next “ULMII” entertainment conference is Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 1-4 pm at Security Square Mall (6901 Security Blvd, 21244) offering a professional panel discussion on the business of entertainment and an open stage for singers, songwriters, dancers and actors to perform. One act from each category will walk away with over $15,000 valued in items and services.

The two agencies will introduce their troupes and members to the “ULMII” event and what it has to offer. The “ULMII” entertainment conference will waive the registration fee for any Boy Scout and Girl Scout wanting to perform. “ULMII” is free to attend and is presented in partnership with The Baltimore Times and Security Square Mall. Eight professionals will speak on the panel about the entertainment business and radio personality Doresa Harvey and DJ Rick will host the talent portion of the conference.

“ULMII” is also held annually in Los Angeles and is celebrating 20 years of community service. Those who have participated in “ULMII” have come back years later to thank the event’s founder, Eunice Moseley (www.ThePulseofEntertainment.com), for their successes. The free conference has an impressive success record helping to launch the careers of some of the entertainment industry’s most popular artists today. New Jersey native Naturi Naughton perform at the Baltimore “ULMII” event and was scouted by a Broadway Agent, today she stars on the series “Power” (STARZ);  Los Angeles competitor Miguel’s performance was so impressive panelist Jimmy Maynes (Sr. VP of Jive Records) signed him to a recording contract – he is a Grammy Award winner;  Baltimore competitors, The Featherstone Bros, performed their original song and SisQo (Dru Hill), at the event to support group member Jazz who was a panelist, used the song in the 3rd Dru Hill album as “I Should Be (Your Boyfriend), and Los Angeles competitor RoShon Fegan’s father/manager said what he learned helped him take his son to the next level – a co-starring role on (Disney’s “Shake It Up” and a starred role in Disney’s  “Camp Rock,” which led to him starring on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

The Boys Scouts of American’s Thurgood Marshall District services the Baltimore area and it focuses on teaching its members new skills and “having fun” through hiking, camping and swimming through their Cub Scouts, Venturing, Sea Scouting, Exploring and Learning for Life programs, The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland consist of 1.7 million girls and 750,000 adults who believe they have the power to change the world. The agency focuses on building the girls courage, confidence and character through their Training and Workshops, Partnerships and Camp and Outdoors programs.
