*The attorney who repped R. Kelly a decade ago during his child pornography trial is speaking out.
The lawyer, Ed Gensen, said on Thursday that the R&B singer was actually guilty of those charges β and even received anti-libido drugs to help contain his urges.
βHe was guilty as hell!β Genson, 77, told the Chicago Sun-Times from his Deerfield, Ill., home.
On the other hand, Genson, now retired criminal attorney, doesn’t believe Kelly has done anything βinappropriateβ in years.
βIβll tell you a secret,β he said. βI had him go to a doctor to get shots, libido-killing shots. Thatβs why he didnβt get arrested for anything else.β
Genson, who has terminal bile duct cancer, told the Sun-Times he doesnβt feel ambivalent about getting Kelly acquitted and keeping him out of prison in 2008.
βI didnβt facilitate him. He had already done what heβd done,β Genson said.
βI did facilitate him in the sense I kept him out of trouble for 10 years. I was vetting his records. I listened to them, which ones would make a judge mad.β

According to Gensen, one of R. Kelly’s hits from the era (βIgnitionβ) was a clue to him that the singer might be into underage girls, he said.
βI was riding in the car, listening to a song and said, βAre you crazy? This is all I need,’β Genson recalled.
βItβs a song related to a guy driving around in a car with his girlfriend. It was originally a high school instructor in a class teaching people how to drive a car.β
Genson went on to describe the embattled singer as βnot a very bright personβ and might have become reckless after beating child pornography raps in Florida.
βWhat he doesnβt understand is this: If you win a case with somebody, they think theyβre bulletproof,β Genson said.
βYouβre almost better off, sort of, losing. He thinks he can do whatever the hell he wants. He has done everything he can to hurt himself.β
Hmm, sounds to us like Genson is contradicting himself ’cause earlier he said he didn’t believe Kelly has done anything βinappropriateβ in years.
The bottom line is R. Kelly is facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, including against minors β allegations that he denies.
