New Yorker’s FOX News Exposé Buries ‘Liberal Media’ Myth

fox news

*If you’ve read some of my previous columns, you know I’ve been frequently critical of FOX News Channel (FNC). In the past, I’ve referred to it as the worst TV network in history.

Most politically-savvy people recognize FOX News is really not a news network. It’s a propaganda arm of the Republican Party.

It’s also obvious that FNC and the media played a huge role in Donald Trump’s presidential victory in 2016. However, Jane Mayer’s recent New Yorker article details the shocking link between FNC and the Trump White House.

In her article, Mayer exposes how FNC directly supported Trump during the presidential race. She writes that FNC had the Stormy Daniels story back in 2016, but sat on it because it could have affected the Trump campaign. She writes Diana Falzone, an entertainment reporter, ran into a wall when she tried to get the story published. “After getting one noncommittal answer after another from her editors, Falzone at last heard from (Ken) LaCorte, who was then the head of FoxNews.com. Falzone told colleagues that LaCorte said to her, ‘Good reporting, kiddo. But Rupert wants Donald Trump to win. So just let it go,’” said Mayer.

Mayer reveals even more damning evidence when she talks about how Trump tried to take out FNC’s rivals, such as Sinclair and CNN. He also ranks FNC reporters on their loyalty. Steve Doocy, one of the goons who helms “FOX & Friends” the dumbest show on the network, got a 12/10 score!

Some of the evidence revealed in Mayer’s article is already known. FOX News has literally become a part of the Trump administration. Trump has already hired several FNC personalities such as newsmodel Heather Nauert, who was a State Department spokesperson. She recently rescinded her nomination to be U.N. ambassador, a position she was totally unqualified for, when it was revealed she had hired an undocumented immigrant. Bill Shine, a former FNC executive who helped cover up sexual harassment charges, now heads the White House communications office. Hope Hicks, who used to have Shine’s old job, now works at FNC!
