Dozens of Hospital Workers Fired for Reviewing Jussie Smollett’s Records [VIDEO]

*Dozens of employees at Northwestern Memorial Hospital have reportedly been kicked to the curb after allegedly improperly reviewing the Jussie Smollett’s medical records.

The “Empire” star was treated at the hospital on January 29 after he claimed to have been violently attacked by two masked men who hurled racial and homophobic slurs, wrapped a rope around his neck and doused him with bleach.

CBS Chicago reports:

Sources said those workers have been terminated after gaining access to the “Empire” actor’s medical chart. Smollett has since been charged with staging the whole incident.

One of the nurses said it was a misunderstanding, and claimed she never even accessed Smollett’s chart, but she was fired last week and believes many other nurses and staffers were fired for the same reason.

The nurse said she was called in at the end of her shift last Tuesday, fired on the spot and escorted out of the hospital.

Meanwhile, Chicago police said the attack was a “publicity stunt” because Smollett was upset with his “Empire” salary.

The singer denies any involvement in the attack and remains free on bond. Producers have cut his role from the remaining episodes of “Empire” this season because the case is too much of a distraction for the cast and crew, many of whom suspect he is guilty.

As we previously reported, after the two Nigerian-American brothers who allegedly helped Jussie orchestrate the attack were detained by police, his “Empire” co-star Terrence Howard reportedly confronted him once again and demanded he come clean.

Howard reportedly had a complete meltdown on the set after Smollett was arrested for allegedly staging the hate crime attack on himself.

Jussie is scheduled to appear in court March 14.
