TAYO Fatunla: No Place Like Indestructible LAGOS

LAGOS - Illustrated City - - For EURWEB

*I grew up in LAGOS the city that never sleeps with the Yoruba catch phrase “Eko oni baje” which simply means Lagos cannot be destroyed. I have seen various aspects of Lagos impact on the nation Nigeria and the world from arts and culture to politics, sports, music and politics and life as an artist growing up in Lagos.

This illustrated story of LAGOS featured on the GUARDIAN UK’s online Illustrated City series is made up of 17 panels in full colour and charts the richness of the history of colourful LAGOS. LAGOS has been the life of many and embodies all things good about LAGOS and the very lifeline that connects its glorious past with its future that we all earnestly desire.

That is the spirit of Indestructible LAGOS to restore, share, preserve and project, that is the true spirit of LAGOS all through the strokes of a Comic artist, a Lagosian myself.

The aim was to illustrate a story about LAGOS  from my youth till giving readers an insight into what the city is all about and how the history and culture and the LAGOS people have shaped what it is now. The reader need not visit LAGOS to know all but rather through my illustrations LAGOS, a former capital of Nigeria is revealed.

Follow link (below) to enjoy ENDURING LAGOS. It is my joy to share with all visiting EURweb.com:
