Dr. Cornel West, Cameo’s Larry Blackmon Headed to Jay King’s 4th Annual Creative Exchange Conference

*Sacramento, CA – Music and entertainment industry veteran Jay King has consistently  hosted the gathering  of some of the greatest minds across several sectors at his Annual Creative Exchange Conference.

His 4th Annual Creative Exchange Conference continues that tradition this year, Friday, March  22  and  Saturday,  March  23, 2019.

Thought leaders and influencers, the likes of Dr. Cornel West, NAACP President Betty Williams, Cameo’s Larry Blackmon, and radio host Mark Harris are just a sampling of the brilliant  brains  that  will gather at the Greater Sacramento Urban League located at 3725 Marysville Blvd. in Sacramento.

The two-day event will feature enlightened discussions and exchanges  about  everything  from the challenges  facing low income and urban communities, to issues and solutions in music, technology, education, finance, politics, and the community. This year’s conference boasts 40 speakers, panelists, and experts from myriad backgrounds including the arts, entertainment, politics, technology, education, finance and community.

“It is truly a creative exchange of ideas, knowledge, perspectives and best practices that are shared between panelists to their audiences and vice versa,” cites Jay King, the creator  and creative  force behind the Creative Exchange  Conferences.  “The idea is to jump-start conversations between people with a goal for us to learn how to listen, share,  agree to disagree, and maybe change our perspectives a little so we can find a common ground that can move us forward, build partnerships, and create building blocks for new changes and ideas in our lives both individu­ally, and collectively.”

Jay King is a music producer /performer, community activist and radio host. He formed the Grammy Awarding winning group, Club Nouveau, who were originally based out of Sacramento.

Gian Fiero, adjunct professor, San Francisco State; Mark Harris, law professor, KDEE “Family Matters Show” host; Larry Lee, president of the Sacramento Observer Newspaper and Jay King are the featured modera­ tors who will lead and guide the panels throughout the conference. Highlands Community Charter School is this year’s title sponsor for the second year in a row, alongside other contributing sponsors that include Petrovich Development, Mutual Assistance Network, Tori’s Place, Greater California Urban League, Sound Royalties, The California Black Chamber Of Commerce Foundation and 97.5fm KDEE.
