*Some of you maybe asleep on who this young wonder of a woman is. But she’s only 23 years old, undefeated as a professional, and hails out of Flint (dirty water) Michigan. And folks, as that old saying goes, “The cream always rises to the top” it certainly does in this case.
This young rising star named Claressa Shields has fought her way to where she is today without taking any shortcuts. She’s had a very impressive amateur career garnering 77 wins and 1 loss and won the gold medals in both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics before turning pro.
Folks I got to tell you something, this young, gifted, and black woman not only has the skills and the beauty, that will certainly advance her career, but what’s indeed special about her is the fact that she is very humble and has class that’s something that you don’t quite see in all areas of the sport boxing now a days.
She is set to go far in the sport as she continues her meteoric rise to the very top. She is currently the unified champion in two weight divisions now holding the IBF and WBC super middleweight and IBF middleweight titles and is 8-0 as a professional.
She’s coming off an impressive win against Femke Hermans last year in a bout that she won by a unanimous decision out in Carson, Calif. at the Dignity Health Sports Park (formerly the StubHub Center). She’s now looking forward to her next scheduled fight on April 13th of this year against an unnamed opponent.
This lady is very determined and ready to fight any and all comers like Christina Hammer, and Cecilia Braekhus two really tough women fighters who she says she can stop. They don’t call her “T-Rex” for nothing! She is a diamond in the rough and will definitely have greater opportunities ahead because she is something special.
Keep your eyes open and don’t fall asleep on this lady, she’s got what it takes folks, trust me!
