*Detroit, Mich. – Multi-Platinum and Grammy nominated saxophonist and flautist, Najee, has pushed the envelope in creating epic music in R&B and jazz for more than three decades. Now, the legendary saxophonist is set to introduce his new Chaser Winds’ “Najee Platinum Series.” The series include custom tenor and soprano saxophones, both of which are designed and created by Najee.
The saxophones from the “Najee Platinum Series” will be on display at the 2019 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Trade Show at the Bari Woodwinds (Mouthpieces) booth. Dates for the trade show are Tuesday, January 22nd to Sunday, January 27th in Anaheim, California. Najee will make personal appearances on Thursday, January 24th and Friday, January 25th. at the Bari Woodwinds booth.
He will perform and demonstrate both horns from his series, greet fans, and answer questions pertaining to Chaser Winds and his “Platinum Series” of horns.
“What makes our horns different is the fine design, craftsmanship and specifications of our tenor and soprano saxophones,” said Najee. “They’re premium quality and are designed by me, a career saxophonist, who knows and understands what other professional saxophonists want and need in the durability and action of their respective saxophones.”

Chaser Winds LLC is owned by Najee, in partnership with Darron McKinney, a Detroit-based saxophonist and recording artist. The company, which started in 2018, features two saxophone models for “both tenor and soprano horns.” One version is a black nickel, with white silver nickel keys saxophone, and the other is a silver-plated and white silver matted saxophone. Chaser Winds LLC is the world’s first and only African American-owned and operated company, established to design, create manufacture and sell saxophones.
The new “Platinum Series,” said Najee, offer prices that are reasonable and more affordable than other premium saxophones on the market. If anyone knows what constitutes a great saxophone, it’s Najee. He is an international pioneer in the music industry who has played and/or collaborated with an elite list of who’s who in music, to include Prince, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, and many more.
