*Eminem has unveiled the first trailer for his virtual reality documentary, “Marshall From Detroit,” which is set to premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

As reported by nme.com, the doc was made by Felix & Paul Studios and highlights the rapper’s hometown through his own eyes.

“Our idea was to extend the blanket of intimacy offered by VR beyond the once-in-a-lifetime ride with Marshall and introduce you to a more mystic version of Detroit you could never see for yourself,” director Caleb Slain told Variety. “We wanted to take the ‘reality’ out of VR and cook it down into something more unreal, but also truthful.”

Producer Paul Raphael added: “Our studio has a history of using technology to tell stories in new, more immersive ways, to create experiences that are at the convergence of the intimate and the extraordinary. Marshall From Detroit is a sparkling expression of that, inviting you on a surreal ride through Detroit with Eminem himself.”

After the film’s debut premiere, it will be available to watch on Facebook’s Oculus Go and Rift VR next month.

Meanwhile, did you know Eminem sold more albums than anyone in 2018? He was the only solo artist to sell more than 500,00 ‘pure’ albums last year, per nme.com.
