Leslie Jones Slams ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot: ‘Such a D**k Move’

*Leslie Jones took to Twitter to express her fury over the newly announced “Ghostbusters” project, which will follow the original film’s concept. As you know, Jones starred in director Paul Feig’s poorly-received all-female reboot back in 2016, alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig.

At the time, her performance was met with staunch disapproval and she was harassed and taunted online with racial slurs,. It got so bad that the comedian had to temporarily shut down her Twitter account.

As previously reported, a “Ghostbusters” movie in the works that will reportedly be set in the same universe as the two original films, with Jason Reitman hired to direct and co-write the new movie.

Reitman’s father, Ivan Reitman, directed the original 1984 movie which starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, the late Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson as ghost-catchers in New York City. The film grossed $242 million in the U.S. and more than $295 million worldwide.

News of the remake left Jones feeling some way, as she hit up Twitter to fire off an explosive rant about the project.

“So insulting. Like f**k us. We [don’t] count,” she wrote. “It’s like something Trump would do. (Trump voice)”Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusteeeeers” ugh so annoying. Such a d**k move. And I don’t give f**k I’m saying something!!”

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Reitman made it clear that Jones’ film will not be a part of this new franchise.

“I have so much respect for what Paul [Feig] created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film,” he explained.

Last week he dropped a surprise teaser trailer for the film, which will reportedly feature a new, young foursome who will relaunch the franchise.
