*Ja Rule has slammed the recently released Fyre Festival documentaries, and he wants fans to know that their anger at him over the disastrous event is completely misguided.
The 2017 Fyre Festival was promoted as the most exclusive music event in history that only the rich — or extremely well-off — could afford. Held on a private Bahamian island, it was endorsed by several social media stars, including Kendall Jenner. However, it turned out to be one big scam with Ja Rule at the center of the controversy.
Netflix’s “FYRE” doc breaks down the sad tale and focuses on the festival’s organizer, Billy McFarland, who is now in prison on multiple counts of fraud. A second film called “Fyre Fraud” was also released to Hulu.
Ja Rule – who co-founded the festival with McFarland – has taken to social media to express his frustrations over being blamed for the music event gone horribly wrong.

“I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers,” he tweeted.
“I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???”
In another post, Rule noted that McFarland was paid by Hulu to appear on screen, and Jerry Media co-produced “FYRE” after marketing Fyre Festival.
“Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve [gone] to the Bahamian ppl Netflix PAID fuck Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival… The docs clearly have Billy at fault but let’s blame the rapper lmao ok…,” he wrote.
Ja says he too was “hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hoodwinked, [and] lead astray” by his former business partner and lost “plenty” of money.
“I NEVER MADE OR GOT PAID ONE DOLLAR FROM FYRE… BUT EVERYONE ELSE DID!!!” he said.
Meanwhile, nme.com reports that Fyre Festival staff have received tens of thousands of donations via GoFundMe after reportedly losing their life savings.
