*Kevin Hart has taken to social media to clear up reports and speculation about him being involved with a remake of “Mrs. Doubtfire.”
The late Robin Williams starred in the 1993 comedy-drama about a divorced dad who dresses as an older British woman and convinces his ex-wife to hire him as a nanny so he can spend more time with his kids. Over time, the film has become a cult classic, much like another Williams-led pic, “Jumanji,” which Hart currently stars in the remake for.

As noted by AV Club, the actor stumbled across a story in Shadow And Act which took a hypothetical from his recent CinemaBlend interview (“Now that you’ve remade “Jumanji,” if you had to choose another Robin Williams film to redo, what would it be?”) and treated it seriously. The resulting headline—“Kevin Hart wants to star in a Mrs. Doubtfire remake”— apparently had the comedian feeling some way, so he hit up Twitter to tweet:
This is completely false. I was asked if I could jump into robin Williams body and do one of his movies which one would it be….I said Mrs Doubtfire. It was a hypothetical question…never said anything about a remake. #FalseNews https://t.co/7teD9KDdHO
