Forest Whitaker and wife Keisha Call It Quits After 22 Years of Marriage

*Forest Whitaker and wife Keisha are going their separate ways after 22 years of marriage, TMZ reports.

Whitaker filed docs Thursday in Los Angeles to call it quits.

The two met after playing onscreen lovers on the set of “Blown Away” in 1994. They married two years later in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The couple have two daughters, Sonnet and True. They each also have a child from previous relationships.

Whitaker cites irreconcilable differences in his divorce petition. He also wants both sides to be responsible for their own legal fees.

In an interview with Ebony a few years ago, Keisha said of Forest, “I had seen him in ‘A Rage in Harlem,'” and “Right away, I thought Forest had a gentle soul and a nice spirit.”

Whitaker has not made a statement about the split but on Christmas, he tweeted: “Christmas is a celebration of solidarity – a time of the year when we are reminded that the bonds our families, friends, fellow citizens and beyond are based on sharing and bringing joy.
