Trina Braxton Apologizes for Leaking Death of Ex-Husband Online

*Trina Braxton is mourning the sudden loss of her ex-husband, Gabe Solis, who died Thursday in his home state Texas following a long battle with cancer. He was 43.

Braxton and Solis wed in 2003 but divorced in 2015. Their on-again, off-again relationship was documented on the family’s reality show “Braxton Family Values.” And they even confronted their issues on an episode of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” earlier this year.

News of his death comes as a shock to fans, and some family members were taken even more by surprise because they learned of Gabe’s passing online.

Trina took to Instagram to speak on her ex’s passing on Sunday, revealing that the initial news of his death was shared without the family’s consent.

The heartfelt message was accompanied by a photo of Braxton, Solis and their two sons.

On December 20, 2018, a chapter permanently closed for my sons and I. For over 16 years, Gabe Solis was an essential part of our lives. Like all families, there are good and bad moments that are endured, but those moments, good or bad still made us who we are in the present. Unfortunately, someone leaked the story before we could make everyone aware of his passing, and I apologize to those friends and family members for finding out through social outlets. I also apologize directly to the Solis Family. I do humbly ask for your prayers for our families, but my greatest request is that when you are posting comments, remember Gabe’s passing is a loss for our family. He was a father to my boys, a son, brother, and friend to many and I would appreciate privacy and respect as we grieve his unexpected departure. @gabe_solis1234 I miss you, my dear friend.

Solis’ health issues had reportedly been kept under wraps. TMZ reports that he was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death.
