*Andy Cohen is going to be a dad at the top of the year and he announced the exciting news on Thursday’s episode of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live.”
Cohen, 50, revealed he’s expecting his first child via surrogate in front of Real Housewives Vicki Gunvalson, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, Kyle Richards and Teresa Giudice.
“To the viewers at home, I call you my friends at home because we are friends,” he said, looking directly into the camera.
“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time I am going to become a father, thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future.”

Continuing: “Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life.”
“Though it’s taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet,” he added.
Closing out the final live broadcast of the year, Cohen said, “I am full of so much gratitude.”
In a tweet following the announcement, he said: “Thank you for all the love and support! I’m overwhelmed and touched.”
Cohen did not reveal the gender of the child or whether he plans to be a single parent. He previously split with partner Clifton Dassuncao, PEOPLE reported.
