*Lauryn Hill is being praised for only being 20 minutes fashionably late to her London concert at the O2 Arena on Monday.
Ms. Hill is taking her “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” 20th-anniversary tour around the globe and a review of the singer’s London concert began by noting that she didn’t keep fans waiting for hours before she hit the stage.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Just came back from Lauryn Hill’s concert! She was phenomenal. We ended up being later than her which is absolutely wild since she has a reputation for being extremely late”
Another said: “Now listen…..props to Lauryn Hill for showing up on time, but y’all KNOW(!!!!) there are a good chunk of people who probably missed half the concert because they figured she’d come as late as usual and they didn’t want to stand around for two hours. “

“‘She’s on time!’ A ripple of excitement has just gone through the O2 Arena. The lights have dimmed, and Lauryn Hill is as about as ‘on time’ as she’ll ever be – just 20 minutes late,” wrote the Independent’s Roisin O’Connor.
But that wasn’t the only positive reviewer as an anther attendee had this to say about the difference between how the songs on the original album sound versus how they were played live. According to Page Six, the reviewer wrote: “the former Fugees member’s free-jazz approach to the live set is often scattershot, but it makes the set feel loose and relaxed rather than messy.”
Last month, Hill only performed a half-hour set after a French arena cut her off because she came out two hours late.
“We apologize for the late start,” she said in a statement at the time. “We’re working through the kinks of moving the production to Europe, with time changes and curfew restrictions, we’ve had a few challenges in these early shows.”
Later this month, Lauryn Hill is scheduled for a New Year’s Eve performance at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif, per theroot.com.
