*It’s no secret that Marvel’s “Black Panther” wants to make history by being the first superhero/action-film to win an award for Best Motion Picture at the Oscars this coming year.
Well, if what happened today is any indication, the steps to making that happen began today when the movie was nominated for a 2019 Golden Globes Best Motion Picture – Drama award.

“Black Panther” was also nominated for Best Original Song and Best Original Score.
If you’re keeping track, the only other The only other superhero film that’s gotten shine from the Globes is “Deadpool” (2016). It was nominated in the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category, according to TheWrap.
Of course Marvel and “Black Panther” fans were downright giddy over the news.

“Black Panther” was directed by Ryan Coogler and starred Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Martin Freeman and Daniel Kaluuya. So far, it as won BET Awards, a Hollywood Film Award, MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
The 2019 Golden Globes will take place on January 6 on NBC. Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will be hosting the 76th annual awards show.
