National College Resources Foundation Honors Community Leaders at Gala and Fundraiser

*(Los Angeles, Calif.) – National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) hosted their 6th annual Gala and Fundraiser, November 30 at the California African American Museum. The evening recognized community leaders that have collaborated with NCRF to make a difference in the lives of many students across the globe, particularly in California.

These individuals included, Dr. Paul Jones, President of Fort Valley State, Dr. Soraya Coley, President of Cal Poly Pomona, Mary Smith Cryer, former Director of Employee Relations & HR, Unified Grocers, Andrea Nelson-Meigs, Senior Talent & Literary Agent, ICM Partners, and Rushion McDonald, writer, producer, brand architect, entrepreneur, and baker. Lewis T. Powell, actor and director was also recognized for his work, as a mentor and supporter of NCRF. The celebrity guests, entertainment included sensational jazz artist Mark Allen Felton and popular music group, DC3 with celebrity on-air personality Pat Prescott from 94.7 The Wave, serving as the emcee for the evening.

NCRF and its programs, Black College Expo™, Latino College Expo™ and The College Expo™ has helped over 500,000 students get into college, given away over $500,000 in scholarships, and help secure over 500 million in scholarships and grants. National College Resources Foundation offers free services daily to students and their families, which includes intervention, mentoring, tutoring, college and career planning, student athlete assistance, and internships and career placement.

“This night allowed us to honor and salute individuals that I know without their support, we would not be able to make a difference in the lives of students. My heart was full and very grateful to be able to say thank you in front of almost 300 people,” said NCRF founder Theresa Price.
