Here’s what Darrin Henson had to say about portraying Orlando Duncan on Carl Weber’s The Family Business.”

“This is one of my most favorite characters that I have ever played.  Orlando is resourceful and real. He is flawed. He loves his family and will do anything to protect them.  I love playing him.  He is a man of needs. He needs love, certainty, connection.  Like any other man.”

“The Family Business is about The Duncan family. The Duncans are a family of resources. They own an exotic car dealership, they are an affluent family who are part of their community, and they also have issues like any other family.  They are involved in many businesses.  Businesses that this country has been involved in for years – Narcotics.  They have secured “the bag,” so to speak and now they have enemies and have to figure out how to protect their family.  But they are a very close, strong and focused family and will pull through this.”

“And, aw man, we have such an amazing, amazing cast. I get to work with Ernie Hudson and my TV Mom Valerie Pettiord, which is just incredible.  And I get to work with Michael Jai White, who I have a great and close relationship with.  He is like a big brother to me in real life, through training me and just being a good brother.  WE have an amazing time on set. It just doesn’t get any better.  The experience has just been incredible.”

When asked about acting and dealing with life in Hollywood, Darrin had this to say:

In life there always opportunities to grow. Acting is something that I do and when you do something you love, you want to be the best at it. The highs are great but the lows are learning lessons. You can’t have a high without a low, so I appreciate the so called low’s because it allows for contrast. They push you forward to gaining access to your highs. The air of success is very thin so you must exercise in order to get there.  You have to keep working and practicing your craft to remain in the space. The Law of Attraction is something to study. Practicing the Law of Attraction is something that keeps me going.  I always use it.
