*”Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross just had the experience of a lifetime: freezing her arse off – along with her Mom, Diana Ross and sisters and brother – in the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
She stopped by E!’s “Busy Tonight” show to share the experience (and to get warm). Check out some of the info she revealed:
On the cold temperatures while participating in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade:
“We were into it, we commit as a family. We were singing!…They said it was record low for New York temperatures. With the wind chill it was 5 degrees. I thought we were on Everest. I’m not joking you. I had on two pairs of heat tech from Uniqlo, I had a down jacket, a down coat, I was covered…My mom did not think it was a good idea but I put them [heat warmers], I put them everywhere. They were in my boobs, they were around my belly button, anywhere they would fall because I was just dropping them down, and they were in my legs…There was no getting off the float but I have to tell you I couldn’t feel my body, so, or my face or my fingers. At some point my brother was like, ‘Um, your ears are really red Tracee.’ I thought if you bent it, it was just going to like break off…But I think that if I had had to pee, um I wouldn’t have felt it coming, and I probably would have welcomed it because it was warm…It was artic, to the point that there were stretches of like blocks on end where there was no sun, and it was like crazy, and my sister was like ‘I can see the sun, it’s coming!’ and I was like, ‘We can make it, we can make it!’”

On her dislike of cruises and music festivals:
“I swear that cruises and music festivals are like my worst nightmare. Literally, two of my least favorite things in the world, like dirty feet and drugs. Like never smoked pot in my life, like and the idea of a like a wet, dusty, dirty foot is like ew. Like are you kidding me, people walking around in flip flops with like drinks spilling and like dirt running through their toes, blahhh.”
On working out and what foods she avoid:
“It’s after Thanksgiving, there’s so much cheese in my head. I don’t eat cheese and it’s like so rude to the system…Dairy, gluten, and sugar when I’m working – I’m really disciplined…Listen, if I’m going to be in pain, somebody is going to witness it with me. I also feel like I did not wake up like this. Like I work to look like this at 46.”
