What To Look Forward to in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald’ (EUR Exclusive- WATCH)

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second installment in the wizarding world franchise. The film hits theaters on November 16.

In order to ensure that you’re ready for the new action, here is a reminder of what happened in “Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.” At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald ( Johnny Depp) was captured with the help of Newt Scamander ( Eddie Redmayne). The wizard followed through with his plot to escape.

We open this film, a few months after Grindelwald’s capture. After he escapes from prison, the dark wizard decides to settle in Paris. Like any bad guy with plans on world domination, Grindelwald is on the lookout for a place to set up shop and a few goons to act as muscle for his evil deeds. He’s also trying to locate Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller), the orphan from the first film who has some serious magic powers.

Credence is on a quest for answers about his real parents. There were rumors that he’s related to a powerful wizarding family. He escapes from the circus with Nagini (Claudia Kim), a fellow performer he bonded with, who occasionally turns into a snake.

EURweb correspondent Jill Munroe spoke with Miller and Kim about working on the film, and how it felt for Claudia to not only join the franchise, but take on the origin story of Nagini.

“It was surreal and mind blowing to join the cast. I loved the first film, so it was amazing to learn that not only am I a part of it but that I’m joining the Harry Potter world too.”

On working with each other, Miller added that Claudia was “fantastic” and the “greatest” person. Kim added that “every moment was so beautiful.”

The cast is rounded out with Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol)  Newt’s ex Leta Lestrange (Zoë Kravitz) and his older brother Theseus (Callum Turner.)  You also will get a look at an old Hogwarts favorite. A youthful version Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law.)
