Polish Singer Performs Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ in Blackface [WATCH]

*Polish musician Bogumil “Boogie” Romanowski is making international headlines for using blackface to portray Drake on the popular variety program Twoja Twarz Brzmi Znajomo.

The show sees Polish celebrities impersonating global superstars for a 10,000 złoty cash prize (roughly $2650) that’ll be given to a charity of their choice.

Complex reports that Boogie’s cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” was both flat and offensive, but he still managed to walk away with the prize. The show’s Instagram account even shared a picture of him in blackface.

Bogumil has yet to apologize or acknowledge that he’s aware that Black Americans are highly offended by blackface.

But when you consider the cultural differences between the U.S. and Poland, it’s unlikely he’ll be fazed by the criticism.

On November 2, Drake accused the Vancouver’s Parq Casino of racial profiling. “[The casino was] profiling me and not allowing me to gamble when I had everything they originally asked for,” he wrote on his Instagram stories.

The casino apologized in a statement and said it “stands against racism.”
