*Over the weekend “Basketball Wives” newbie Cecilia “CeCe” Gutierrez and retired NBA player Byron Scott took to Instagram to announce that they’re officially engaged!
Via a post that’s since been deleted, Scott wrote, “4 1-2 years ago we met. 6 months later you were my girlfriend. 2 weeks ago you became my fiancé. And soon you will be my wife. I am the luckiest man on earth. I love you baby.”
CeCe and Byron were spotted on a double date with co-star OG and her boyfriend Kwame Alexander earlier this month and you can see her bling ring shining in the photo.
On the show, when we were first introduced to CeCe and Byron, she joked that “he was stalking me at the gym” when they met, and he told everyone, “I love everything about her.”

As noted by madamenoire.com, Byron was previously married for nearly 30 years to his ex-wife, Anita, and he filed for divorce in 2014. He claims they separated in 2013, but she said it didn’t happen until 2014. They have three adult children together, Thomas, LonDen and DaRon.
If you watched season 7 of “Basketball Wives,” then you’ll recall CeCe’s relationship with Byron being an issue of contention with Thomas’s wife Kristen Scott. Despite their family connection, Kristen and CeCe were on opposite sides of the fence on a few issues, per vh1.com, particularly Evelyn and Jen’s joke about CeCe’ giving “happy endings” at her medical spa.
According to The Blast, Anita actually planned on asking CeCe earlier this year to testify as a witness for her over spousal support case and offer insight to Byron’s money. She was recently seeking $60,000 a month.
