Aretha Franklin’s Lawyer Files for Past Payments She Never Made

*It seems that before she died, Aretha Franklin didn’t pay her lawyer and he’s not letting her death get in the way of getting his money.

Gregory Reed, who was the late singer’s attorney, says even when she was still here, he had problems getting his money. Now, he’s hoping her estate will be more agreeable and come up with the money to pay off the bills, reports TMZ.

Of course some will think it’s not a good look on his part to be taking action so soon after her passing, It sounds harsh, but business is business. Reed’s filed docs demanding the estate pay the nearly $54k due in billing that date back to six year!

Dang, Aretha, what was that all about? Why didn’t you pay the man?!

Meanwhile, according to legal documents, Reed’s firm says it provided a number of services to the Queen of Soul … including negotiations on her final Atlantic Records contract. The firm says her last payment, for about $10k, was made in August 2012.

Aretha Franklin died this past August at age 76 from pancreatic cancer.

Bill Cosby’s legal team has filed docs that call out the trial judge in his sexual assault case for not giving him bail pending appeal. He also claims the judge had a personal vendetta against a key defense witness.

Here’s what TMZ reports:

Cosby’s lawyers claim Judge Steven O’Neill was brutal toward Bruce Castor, the former District Attorney who investigated the case back in 2005. Cosby claims Castor gave him assurances when he was D.A. that he would not be prosecuted in the Andrea Constand case if he provided a sworn deposition in her civil case against him.

Cosby’s lawyers have submitted a sworn statement by Castor, who claims he was treated with “tremendous animosity from Judge O’Neill toward me from the moment that I took the stand.”
