*Nike’s online sales jumped 31% after the company unveiled Colin Kaepernick as a face of its “Just Do It”30th-anniversary campaign, according to San Francisco–based Edison Trends, Market Watch reports.

“There was speculation that the Nike/Kaepernick campaign would lead to a drop in sales, but our data over the last week does not support that theory,” said Hetal Pandya, co-founder of Edison Trends.

Despite the backlash in the wake of Nike’s endorsement deal with Kaepernick, sales for the sportswear company grew 31% from Sunday through Tuesday over the Labor Day holiday this year compared with the previous year, according to the report.

“Calling a dream crazy is not an insult,” Kaepernick says in the Nike spot. “It’s a compliment.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, terms of his contract with Nike were not disclosed, but it does include donations from Nike to Kap’s own “Know Your Rights” campaign, which will go towards raising “awareness on higher education, self-empowerment, and instruction to properly interact with law enforcement in various scenarios.”

The outlet also reports that Kap is worth $20 million; as his earnings from the NFL totaled $43,479,216 or just under $7 million for each year he played. He signed a $126 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers in 2014 but has not played since 2016, allegedly for kneeling during the national anthem, inspiring others to follow suit. The athlete has become the face of player protests against racial injustice and police brutality.

As a social activist, Kap’s already donated more than a million dollars of his NFL earnings to various social justice and educational causes over the last year. Now, his eyes are on bagging another quarterback job with an NFL team.
