Tamera Mowry-Housley: Well I absolutely love your British accent –
Daniel Ezra: Thank you.
Tamera: But did the American accent come easy to you?
Daniel: No, so I pretty much stay in the accent throughout filming, so the first – most of the crew didn’t realize I was British until we wrapped the pilot.
Tamera: Wow.
Daniel: Yeah, ‘cause when we finished I started talking normally and everyone was like [DOUBLETAKE].
Adrienne Houghton: Wait, can you do it now?
Jeannie Mai: Yeah, I wanna hear, I wanna hear, I wanna hear!
Tamera: Yeah, yeah yeah!
Daniel: Yeah, so I’d go to the… so I… hold on.
Loni Love: Say, “I go to the store.”
Tamera: “I go to the store.”
Daniel: [AMERICAN ACCENT] Imma go to the store real quick.
Tamera: Pretty good!
Adrienne: That is scary good!
Jeannie: It even has a little swag back in there!
Daniel: That’s what we did yeah!
Adrienne: “Imma go to the store real quick.”
Daniel: [AMERICAN ACCENT] “Imma go to the store real quick.” We go to uh, Rob the director, he take me to South Central LA…
Loni: Yes!
Daniel: [AMERICAN ACCENT] And when he directed the pilot, he took me down to Crenshaw.
Loni: Do you have to like, concentrate? How do you do that?
Daniel: [BACK TO BRITISH ACCENT] For the pilot it did, yeah, it was – I listened to only LA artists, I listened to only Californian rap artists and stuff and just sticking it and just stay with it.
Jeannie: And now you only watch The Real and you get that accent down too!
