Snoop Dogg Applauds Son for Quitting Football – Common Tours LA jail to Get Out the Vote

*Fans of Snoop Dogg know he has a passion for football and even runs his own youth football league.

But now, the rapper says he’s worried about the dangers of CTE and is happy his son, Cordell Broadus, quit the sport while still healthy, noted The Blast.

He made the revelation to Wendy Williams on her talk show after she asks his feelings on Cordell quitting the UCLA football team twice during the summer of 2016.

Snoop admits he was upset at first, but then says he started researching CTE and now believes “My son is very smart for getting out early and maintaining his mind-state.”

The rapper also dished about the smoking habits of Tamar Braxton, who co-stars with Snoop in his upcoming “Redemption of a Dogg.”

In related news, rapper Common visited Men’s Central Jail with the ACLU to encourage eligible inmates to register to vote, abc7.com reports.

On National Voter Registration Day, the Academy Award-winning hip-hop artist and actor visited the nation’s largest jail system to help register inmates who are eligible to vote.

The tour was part of a partnership with the ACLU called Unlock the Vote designed to let inmates know about their voting rights, the report states.

“I personally didn’t know that people in jail have the opportunity to vote,” Common said. “So when I was educated on that I thought it was significant and very important for me to be here and also be a part of letting people who are part of the justice system know they have a voice and they have an opportunity to vote and speak out and be recognized as human beings.”

There are more than 17,000 people incarcerated in the LA County system, and more than 63 percent of them – at least 10,000 people – are eligible to vote, according to the ACLU.
