Will Smith Kills Stand-Up Comedy Act as Dave Chappelle Opener

*Will Smith celebrated the big 5-0 on Tuesday (Sept. 25) and to mark the occasion, he served up a stand-up comedy special in Los Angeles.

As reported by essence.com, Smith hit the stage last Wednesday night to open for Dave Chappelle at the Peppermint Club. He shared a photo of the experience on Instagram, along with the caption: “I did Stand Up last night… FIRST TIME EVER! I AM HOOKED.”

According to E! News, Smith had the crowd cracking up with jokes aimed at his family, especially his children.

“He laid it down! He killed it. He’s a natural storyteller but he had everybody laughing,” a source at the show said.

In addition to Smith and Chappelle, LeBron James, Jon Stewart, and Katt Williams were also in attendance.

“He also joked about how he found out about Jaden’s ‘Icon’ single on Spotify and went home to ask Jaden about it and if he could be on Jaden’s remix and Jaden was like, ‘Umm no,’” the source recalled. “He said the next day he messed with Jaden a little more at home by bringing out all his Grammys and music awards, throwing it in Jaden’s face.”

According to the report, Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith were also there to support and laughed throughout the actor’s entire set.
