Jemele Hill Departs ESPN After 12 Years At the Network: ‘I’ll Always Be Rooting for You’

*Jemele Hill is officially out at ESPN, as Friday was her last day with the network.

After a year filled with controversy and a war of words with Trump’s White House, the columnist and host announced that reports about her departure were true.

“When I started at ESPN in 2006, I had no idea that such a wonderful journey would take place over the next 12 years. This was the place where I became the best version of myself, both personally and professionally.

“However, the time has come for me to begin a new chapter in my life.”

Hill went on to thank executives at ESPN and singled out Michael Smith with an “I love you.”

To other colleagues at the network, she noted that: “I’ll always be rooting for you.”
