*Rapper Mac Miller, 26, has died. Law enforcement officials say Miller was found at around Noon on Friday at his home in LA’s San Fernando Valley.
Upon arrival, authorities called for “immediate dispatch” for a patient who was in cardiac arrest.
After the news broke, The Blast reports that NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns showed up to Miller’s home. He was apparently very close to Miller, tweeting:
“Not only were you my favorite artist, you was one of my closest friends. The love we had was genuine and the moments we shared were filled with nothing but positivity and laughter. I love you man and I’m sure as hell gonna miss you @MacMiller. Rest easy my brotha ??????”
Friday afternoon, Miller’s family released a statement about his death.
“Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26,” reads the statement. “He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends, and fans.”
Miller had struggled with substance abuse in the past. Just last month, the Los Angeles Attorney’s Office officially charged the rapper with a DUI stemming from a car accident in May in the San Fernando Valley.
He had been open about his struggles previously, referencing drug abuse and death in his music, particularly in the deeply personal 2014 mixtape “Faces.” “I used to rap super openly about really dark s—,” he told Vulture in a profile that published on Thursday. “That’s what I was experiencing at the time. That’s fine, that’s good, that’s life. It should be all the emotions.”
After his public breakup with Ariana Grande, she alluded to his substance abuse issues being a reason for the split.

*It’s all over for CNN’s Van Jones and his wife, Jana Carter. “The Van Jones Show” host will soon be single again because his Jana has just filed for divorce.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Jana Carter filed for divorce on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The couple has two children (boys) together, Mattai and Cabral, who Jana is seeking custody of, by the way.
Carter, by the way, served as a producer on two of Jones’ CNN shows. She’s also the niece of former president, Jimmy Carter
Jones, who’s also an attorney and author, worked in the Obama administration as the Green Jobs adviser. He’s been a CNN personality since 2013 and earlier this year, got his own show (“The Van Jones Show”) on the network.
