*The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) held their “On the Come Up” showcase in Los Angeles at the Troubadour last month.
Hosted by Grammy-nominated DJ Skillz with a special performance by Girls Make Beats and some of the hottest emerging talent in LA. Rap duo Villain Park, twin sister rap duo Cam & China, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer Brittany B, plus Felixx and KR gave exciting performances in this showcase series.
“On the Come Up” began as a newsletter chronicling ASCAP’s rising urban songwriters and producers. Now “On the Come Up” identifies as an ongoing series of showcases throughout the country featuring exclusive, intimate performances with artists on the verge of a big break. These artists are experiencing their first taste of chart success and the showcases give these rising stars a high profile opportunity to show off their talents and get audiences familiar with these new faces and voices.
