Uh Oh, Kevin Hart’s VMAs ‘Kneeling’ Jab Spurs Talk of Boycott by Trump Supporters

*Just in case Kevin Hart‘s attempt to be funny and controversial at the same time during last night’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), we think he succeeded … at least on the controversial tip. So much to the point where he’s getting serious blowback from supporters of the orange a-hole in the White House. Yes, we’re talking boycott!

On the show, while presenting with Tiffany Haddish, Hart told the celebs in the audience that they were “allowed to kneel,” as referenced NFL players protesting during the national anthem.

He added: “You can do whatever you want, there’s no old white men to stop you.”

Hart then compared the awards show, annually known for generating controversial moments, to what’s going onj Washington, D.C.

“Beefs pop off, bad language, people run to the bathroom and send out crazy tweets,” Hart said about the VMAs. “It’s basically like a typical day at the White House. In your face Trump, suck it.”

Uh oh. Did he go too far? We ask because it seems Hart’s jab at the president instantly set Twitter on fire, with calls for a boycott coming from Trumpsters.

Twitter user @Lord_Oil predicted Hart’s downfall:

On the other hand, some viewers thanked Hart for his joke. @Macnme said, “Somebody had to speak the TRUTH. FINALLY.” The Twitter user added the hashtag, #freedomsmatter.

By the way, according to USA Today, Hart wasn’t the only celeb to get political. Rapper Logic also made a statement that was unfavorable to Trump. Logic was joined onstage by young immigrants wearing T-shirts that read, “We are all human beings,” to protest the Trump administration’s separation of migrant children from their parents after they crossed the border illegally.

Logic, best known for the suicide prevention anthem “1-800-273-8255,” wore a T-shirt that read, “(Expletive) the wall.”
