*The whole world is still dealing with the death of Aretha Franklin, so it’s only fitting that we share with you a touching, intimate video of Sister Ree that her granddaughter uploaded to Facebook. The sentimental black & white home video shows Aretha singing in her “peace room” and blowing her kisses just a few months ago. Watching it is so emotional; It’s like watching your own grandmother.
Well dang! We don’t know the who, what, when, where of this video, but if you watch you’ll see that this white woman, while she’s no Aretha, can sing gospel and squall with the best of ’em. Definitely a must see.
Finally, it’s been three years since she last released new music, but 52-year-old Janet Jackson is still doin’ it strong and she’s back on the scene with her newest single and video called “Made for Now.”
The jam dropped at midnight after teasing a snippet on her Instagram a day earlier. Filmed in the streets of New York City, it pairs the timeless songstress with Daddy Yankee (“Despacito”).
The video, directed by Dave Meyers, includes an array of international dancers along with multi-cultural representation throughout. Janet’s long-time creative director, Gil Duldulao, is said to have selected the global dance crew, with talent hailing from Grenada, Trinidad, Ghana, Nigeria, and the U.S.
Oh yeah, Janet Jackson and Daddy Yankee are slated to perform tonight (08-17-18) on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
