A Crazy Good Time with ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ (EUR Exclusive – Watch!)

*The best-selling novel “Crazy Rich Asians,” by Kevin Kwan, is set to grace the big screen on August 15 and it is one that you do not want to miss. It’s beautiful, heart felt and even sexy touching on the subject of love and the freedom to love. Not to mention, it’s historical in that it’s the first predominately Asian cast movie with a national distribution in America.

Every family has its own crazy as a theme that we can all relate to. In the film, “Crazy Rich Asians,” Harry Golding portrays Nick Young a wealthy, young and handsome sought after heir with a family that’s as crazy in traditions as they are in wealth. Constance Wu plays Nick’s girlfriend, Rachel Chu, who has no idea how wealthy Nick is. But Nick’s money isn’t the issue; his mother Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh) is.

Comedian Ken Jeong and rapper/actress Awkwafina add so much comedy to this already spectacular tale of family versus the freedom to live as one wants. Henry Golding who recently wed the love of his life says there are “so many multitudes of love and so many challenges […] to have the freedom to be able to choose is important.” While Constance Wu assures us that “That type of true love it exists.”

The movie is anticipated to do big numbers in the box office. In regards to how the crowd will receive it Golding says “what we do know is that John has created this phenomenal movie experience.” Ken Jeong was thrilled when he heard the movie was greenlit.

“My wife and I are fans of the books and when we found out it was being made into a movie I knew I needed to be a part of it,” says Jeong.

Awkwafina who shines as Chu’s college best friend says:

“I knew this was big for our community. They don’t even have to see the movie and they feel the chills […} it’s kind of like inception (in) that it is a dream inside of a dream.”

Gorgeous, fancy, fabulous are all words that can properly describe the look of this film whose backdrop is Singapore. With marvelous fashion and outrageous, yet relatable characters, “Crazy Rich Asians” is sure to be a memorable movie experience.
