‘Black Panther’ Becomes 3rd Film to Hit $700M at Domestic Box Office

*Black Panther continues to make cinematic box office history by becoming the third film to cross $700 million domestically.

According to BoxOffice Mojo’s weekend report, this puts the movie just behind two other box office smashers, “Avatar” ($760 million) and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($936 million).

“Black Panther” bagged nearly $300 million upon initial release and held the #1 spot at the box office for five weeks.

Now it’s been about 25 weeks since the film’s first premiere and “Black Panther” is STILL playing in theaters for anyone who wants to relive the magic or newbies who have yet to experience all the hype.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios hasn’t officially confirmed a “Black Panther” sequel, but boss Kevin Feige said it is “absolutely” going to happen.

“[I have] nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that,” he said.

‘It seems a no-brainer given that the film broke records for the superhero genre, and is already being touted as a contender for the 2018 Academy Awards race,’ per Digital Spy.
